Eid Miladun Nabi: President, PM urge nation to learn from Holy Prophet’s teachings

ISLAMABAD:

In separate messages addressed to the nation on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi on Friday President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan termed the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a beacon of light to the world, urging for its sanctity to always be preserved.

President Dr Alvi urged the Muslim world’s leaders to put forth a unanimous demand before the international organisations to ensure sanctity of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) life and desist from the blasphemy and desecration.

In his message to the nation, Alvi condemned the recent blasphemous acts in the West, adding that such incidents have invited the wrath of Muslims across the globe.

He maintained that these incidents created disintegration and also violated the spirit of interfaith harmony and dialogue.

President Alvi further said that it was essential to spread the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the true message of the Holy Quran in order to better tackle Islamophobia, and highlight the real spirit of Islam.

In a separate statement on the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated the nation on the Prophet’s (PBUH) birthday.

He said the Prophet (PBUH) established the state of Madina with justice, fraternity and equality, which is still a role model for the entire world.

He added that the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) are forbearance, patience and tolerance which must be disseminated to promote peace, tranquility and interfaith harmony across the world.

The premier said that the “status of the Prophet (PBUH) is like the unmatched Sun. His unique teachings and His blessed life are an example for human beings and a guide for the whole of humanity”.

PM Imran said that “today, societies based on public welfare are based on the same principles the state of Madina was established upon, which was a practical example of justice, religious and social freedom”.

He further said that Pakistan will also be molded into a welfare state based on the same principles, and the journey towards this goal has already begun.

Speaking about the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the prime minister said that the first wave was prevented from spreading further with the help of Almighty Allah. However, he added that the second wave has been on the rise for some time, and the nation must continue to take precautionary measures to ensure permanent mitigation of the spread.
